Try explaining integrity to an eight-year-old and you will run out of words quickly. The way around it is to describe what a person with that quality does, says and thinks, in concrete examples a child can picture. Children assemble those examples into the larger idea on their own. It works on adults too, though it takes a lighter touch to avoid sounding condescending.
