I Intend To

David Marquet commanded a nuclear submarine and found that a small change in phrasing changed who was doing the thinking. Rather than ask a supervisor what to do, people stated what they intended to do and why. At camp that turns a counselor from someone waiting for instructions into someone anticipating the questions a supervisor would ask. The goal is a supervisor who only has to agree.
